iPhone Dev-Team has released an update to Redsn0w jailbreak tool dubbed as Redsn0w 0.9.10b5c for Windows and Mac OS X both which fix RamDisk Freeze issue, several bugfixes and improvements. You can download Redsn0w v0.9.10b5c from the direct links given down below.
The updated version of Redsnow brings untethered jailbreak for A5 powered devices including iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1 firmware but apart from those A5 devices owners, there were number of users who has been experiencing problems over old A4 devices including iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G that causes custom RamDisk Freeze issue and some other minor bugs but thanks to the jailbreak community who has updated its jailbreak tool for Windows and Mac both users which brings stability, improvements and more importantly the bugfixes.

“Updates #5b and #5c: Version b5b fixes an issue with using custom ramdisks on iPhone3G and iPod2G, and version b5c prevents redsn0w from crashing due to the ever-growing ramdisk size.
TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data as wound, you can always pre-select the appropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.”
